Google Wallet, the digital payment service by Google, officially debuted in Pakistan on March 12, 2025, representing a major step forward for the country’s digital payments ecosystem. The service enables users to conduct contactless in-person transactions, make online payments, and securely store digital items like loyalty cards and boarding passes on their Android devices.
“Pakistan’s digital payments ecosystem is advancing quickly, and as more people adopt digital transactions, Google Wallet offers a secure, convenient, and efficient solution for payments, shopping, and travel,” said Farhan Qureshi, Country Director for Google Pakistan. “It will allow Pakistanis to make tap-and-pay transactions in stores, enjoy seamless online checkouts, and effortlessly access their boarding passes while traveling,” he added.
Google reaffirms its commitment to Pakistan’s digital future with the launch of Google Wallet. Starting today, cardholders from major banks, including Bank Alfalah Limited, HBL, and Meezan Bank Limited, can add their cards and make contactless payments via Android and Wear OS devices. More banks, including Allied Bank Limited and JS Bank, will be integrated soon.
Users can also make online purchases with Google Wallet at retailers like Onic Pakistan, Gul Ahmed, and sana safinazz. Additionally, the app supports boarding passes from Batik Air and Thai Airways International, providing real-time travel updates. Google Wallet also enables secure tap-and-pay transactions abroad, eliminating the need for physical cards.
