In an attempt to support the country’s freelance community, Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced zero tax on registered e-freelancers at the launch of the National E-Tijarat Portal in Islamabad.
The government aims to further support the youth in the IT sector by removing unnecessary hurdles so that people can easily benefit from technology. The e-commerce portal was also launched in line with the same mission as more and more youngsters across the country are stepping up and putting Pakistan on the map when it comes to new tech businesses.
The government also has plans to explore further avenues to attract IT exports to the tune of $50 billion in the coming years while at the same time it’s important to acknowledge the growing potential in the local tech space that has helped the country make $4.5 billion in just a few years.
