Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday said Pakistan is prepared to attract Emirati investment in renewable energy, artificial intelligence, fintech, agriculture, and minerals, as the country’s economy stabilizes. Addressing a ceremony marking the UAE’s 54th National Day, attended by ministers, diplomats, and business leaders, Sharif described the UAE as a “key economic partner” that has provided “critical support” to Pakistan.
“Pakistan takes great pride in its strategic partnership with the UAE, which continues to deepen across every domain of life,” he remarked, praising the Gulf nation’s progress under President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
UAE Ambassador Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi echoed the commitment to stronger ties, saying: “We see tremendous potential for collaboration in renewable energy, artificial intelligence, sustainability and economic diversification.” He stressed that the relationship is built on “mutual respect, shared values and a common vision for regional peace and development.”
The UAE hosts nearly 1.8 million Pakistani expatriates, a community Sharif said has contributed “tirelessly” to the Gulf state’s growth. The event concluded with Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and the ambassador joining a cake-cutting ceremony to mark the occasion.
