The Central Depository Company (CDC), in collaboration with the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG), has launched “Shareholder Agahi”, a digital portal aimed at enhancing investor literacy and participation in Pakistan’s capital markets. The initiative has been guided by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SECP).
The portal integrates a wide range of features to empower retail shareholders. It offers a dedicated Shareholder Rights hub, complete with FAQs, video guides, and webinars, alongside an education section that provides online courses and structured learning modules. In addition, it hosts a comprehensive library that consolidates company disclosures, market updates, and research, while its investor dashboard enables real-time tracking of upcoming meetings, corporate announcements, and access to e-voting systems.
Moreover, designed with accessibility in mind, the platform is available in both Urdu and English. Badiuddin Akber, CEO-CDC, stated that “CDC plays a key role in developing the infrastructure that supports Pakistan’s capital markets. By leveraging our expertise in market operations, we continuously work to enhance transparency and investor participation. Shareholder Agahi is a prime example of how we advance the market by providing investors with seamless access to information and engagement tools.”
