UBL and Indus DC REIT join forces to expand Pakistan’s cloud and data center infrastructure, boosting digital transformation and secure local hosting.
UBL and Indus Cloud have entered a strategic partnership to accelerate the development of next-generation cloud computing and data center infrastructure across Pakistan. The collaboration is expected to strengthen the country’s digital ecosystem by expanding secure, scalable and locally hosted cloud services for enterprises and public sector institutions.
The partnership will focus on advancing Master Group of Industries’ Indus Cloud and Data Center Project, which aims to establish Tier-III compliant facilities equipped with advanced cloud capabilities. The initiative is designed to support Pakistan’s rapidly evolving digital economy through improved computing performance, enterprise-grade security and enhanced data sovereignty.
Indus DC REIT will lead the development and operation of specialized data center infrastructure, while Indus Cloud will provide a full-scale cloud services platform tailored to local market needs. UBL joins the initiative as a strategic investor, contributing financial backing and institutional expertise while also planning to integrate the infrastructure into its own digital banking transformation strategy.
Speaking on the occasion, Rumman Dar, CIIO of Indus Cloud & DC REIT, said, “This partnership represents a defining moment for Pakistan’s cloud ecosystem.” He added that the collaboration would allow enterprises to transition confidently toward cloud adoption while ensuring performance, security and compliance with local data requirements.
UBL Chief Strategy Officer Farrukh Karim Khan said, “UBL is committed to supporting transformative initiatives that strengthen Pakistan’s digital and financial ecosystem.” He noted that the partnership aligns with the bank’s innovation agenda and would help improve digital capabilities and customer experience through cloud-enabled infrastructure.
