Sindh launches digital IPT collection via e-Stamping, aiming to boost transparency, reduce corruption, and streamline property tax processes across the province.
The Sindh government has launched the collection of Immovable Property Tax (IPT) through the Board of Revenue’s e-Stamping platform, marking a major step toward digitised governance. The system is powered by the Sindh Information Technology Company and aims to improve transparency and reduce corruption in tax collection.
The initiative was formalised through a memorandum of understanding signed between Sindh Bank, National Bank of Pakistan, and Bank of Punjab, in collaboration with the Board of Revenue and relevant government departments. Officials say the move will streamline property-related tax processes and enhance efficiency.
Since taking over the e-Stamping system in September 2025, SITC has processed over one million challans and collected more than Rs18 billion across 431 bank branches. The new system integrates tax collection directly with property transactions, ensuring faster processing and improved accountability.
Under the updated framework, IPT will be automatically calculated at one per cent of the total property value and generated alongside the e-Stamping challan. Authorities believe the system will strengthen local councils financially while simplifying procedures for citizens and promoting a more transparent revenue ecosystem.
