Myco Holdings, a Web3 streaming platform, has announced an investment in the pre-seed funding round of BuyPass, an online shopping platform focused on live shopping and video commerce in Pakistan.
According to the company, the investment is expected to support the continued growth of Pakistan’s emerging video commerce market. BuyPass has introduced a shopping model that allows consumers to make purchases while watching live broadcasts through a dedicated television shopping channel.
Myco founder Umair Masoom Usmani stated that he and Daman Investments Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Khizer Khan have supported BuyPass founder Muhammad Ammar Hassan since the early stages of the company’s development. He said the latest funding round reflects a deeper partnership between the organisations.
Usmani noted that the investment will help accelerate BuyPass’s efforts to make video commerce a mainstream retail channel in Pakistan. He highlighted the platform’s current scale, citing more than one million mobile application downloads and nearly 500,000 monthly active users. He also stated that BuyPass TV has achieved over 90 per cent distribution coverage across Pakistan.
As part of the expanded collaboration, Hassan has assumed a leadership role across the broader Myco ecosystem. According to Usmani, he will lead both Myco Pakistan and BuyPass teams as they enter the next stage of growth and expansion.
The investment also reflects Myco’s broader strategy of developing businesses that operate at the intersection of technology, media, and entertainment. The company stated that it continues to incubate and build startups within the media technology sector and views media-tech as a significant growth opportunity in Pakistan and the wider region.
BuyPass provides customers with access to a variety of products from verified sellers through its mobile platform. Users can browse product categories and complete purchases digitally. The company has also introduced quick commerce services, offering delivery within three hours for same-city orders.
Myco has established itself as one of Pakistan’s fastest-growing over-the-top (OTT) streaming platforms, reporting more than 40 million registered users. Founded in the United Arab Emirates in 2021 by a Pakistani entrepreneur, the company positions itself as a media technology platform that combines content distribution, technological innovation, and digital commerce solutions.
The latest investment reflects growing interest in integrating content and commerce experiences, as companies explore new ways to engage audiences through digital and broadcast platforms.
