Meezan Bank Limited and the Institute of Business Administration’s Centre for Excellence in Islamic Finance (IBA CEIF) have launched the second cohort of their flagship program Meezan Justuju, designed to cultivate future leadership in Pakistan’s Islamic finance sector This initiative offers a fully funded, 42-hour certification in Islamic banking and finance, delivered via in-person sessions in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
The program targets fresh graduates up to 30 years old, with some age exemptions and finalists in CA, ACCA, or ICMA programs, requiring a strong academic background and successful performance in both a written test and interview Although its aim is not direct hiring, graduates receive certification aimed at enhancing their employability within Islamic financial institutions.
This collaborative effort comes at a critical juncture for Pakistan’s Islamic finance industry, which is growing rapidly with over 5,000 branches and PKR 9 trillion in assets and racing toward a full transition mandated by the Federal Shariah Court by 2027 Speakers at the launch and graduation ceremonies, including leaders like Dr Ishrat Hussain and Meezan Bank’s top executives, emphasized the strategic goal of bridging talent shortages and empowering a new generation of ethically grounded Islamic finance professionals.
