Pakistan is set to host Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on an official visit following an invitation from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, officials confirmed.
The Kazakh leader will travel with a large team of senior government representatives, signalling Astana’s growing interest in building closer political and commercial links with Islamabad. Diplomats view the visit as part of a broader effort by both countries to move their relationship beyond formal dialogue and into practical cooperation.
During his stay, President Tokayev will hold talks with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Sharif. These meetings are expected to focus on reviewing bilateral engagement and identifying areas where both sides can work together more closely, particularly in trade, transportation networks and regional partnerships.
A key highlight of the visit will be President Tokayev’s participation in a Pakistan-Kazakhstan business gathering, where companies and investors from both countries will explore potential joint ventures and market opportunities.
The Foreign Office said the visit reflects a shared regional outlook aimed at stability, growth and long-term collaboration, adding that the engagement is expected to open new pathways for diplomatic and economic cooperation in the years ahead.
