
PTA’s Q1 2026 survey crowns Jazz as Pakistan’s top mobile network with 95% compliance. Zong shines in coverage & uploads, Ufone in latency, while Telenor lags behind in most categories.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has released its Quality of Service (QoS) survey for the first quarter of 2026, revealing Jazz as the country’s leading mobile network. The survey, conducted across 18 major cities, assessed coverage, speed, latency, browsing, voice, and SMS performance.
Jazz achieved the highest overall KPI compliance rate at 95%, securing 205 compliant checks out of 216. Zong followed closely with 93%, while Ufone scored 89% and Telenor trailed at 78%.
In terms of coverage, Zong stood out by excelling in 3G fallback, giving it the edge in overall coverage. However, Jazz, Zong, and Ufone all met 4G coverage thresholds in 16 cities, while Telenor lagged behind.
Jazz dominated download speeds, ranking first in 13 cities during auto-mode testing and leading third-party app download performance in 11 cities. Zong came second, Ufone third, and Telenor fourth. Conversely, Zong led upload speeds, ranking first in 12 cities for auto-mode and 11 cities for app-based testing, making it the best choice for users who frequently share large files.
Latency results varied, with Jazz leading auto-mode latency and Ufone recording the lowest average latency overall. Web browsing performance was strong across Jazz, Zong, and Ufone, while Telenor struggled.
For voice services, Zong ranked first, followed by Jazz, while SMS performance was led by Jazz with 34 compliant KPIs.
Overall, Jazz emerged as the best all-round performer, excelling in download speeds, SMS, latency, and overall compliance. Zong remained a strong competitor with strengths in coverage, uploads, and voice, while Ufone showed promise in latency and browsing. Telenor, however, finished last across most categories.
