Mobilink Bank earned Top 3 recognition under the Climate2Equal Programme and Progressive Champion status across all DEI categories at the 5th Annual Employer of Choice Gender Diversity Awards 2026.
Mobilink Bank has received a dual recognition that places it among Pakistan’s most forward-thinking institutions on the intersecting fronts of climate action and gender inclusion.
At the 5th Annual Employer of Choice Gender Diversity Awards 2026, organised by The Pakistan Business Council and IFC International Finance Corporation, Mobilink Bank was named among the Top 3 companies under the Climate2Equal Peer Learning Programme and awarded Progressive Champion status across all Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion categories.
The two awards are significant individually, but their combination tells a more compelling story. The Climate2Equal Peer Learning Programme, a joint initiative of the Pakistan Business Council and IFC, challenges companies to recognise and act on the intersection of climate risk and gender vulnerability, an increasingly important frontier as Pakistan grapples with some of the world’s most severe climate impacts on its most economically marginalised populations, a disproportionate share of whom are women.
The Progressive Champion designation across all DEI categories is equally notable. It signals that Mobilink Bank’s approach to inclusion is not confined to a single dimension but is woven across its policies, products, hiring practices, and institutional culture.
In a statement, Mobilink Bank described the recognitions as reflecting “a wider approach we have been building over time, one that connects climate action with women’s economic participation, and workplace inclusion with how we design policies, products and opportunities.” The bank emphasised that its focus remains on “making progress visible in the way we operate and in the outcomes we create.”
The recognition comes against the backdrop of Mobilink Bank’s expanding role in Pakistan’s financial inclusion landscape. As the banking arm of VEON‘s JazzCash ecosystem, Mobilink Bank has been consistently investing in digital financial services that reach underserved communities, with women forming a core target demographic of its microfinance and digital banking offerings.
The bank has previously been recognised as Best Microfinance Bank at the Pakistan Banking Awards 2024 and has won Best Digital Banking Services in the microfinance category at the CFA Society Pakistan Annual Excellence Awards for three consecutive years.
Senator Sherry Rehman, Pakistan’s former Minister for Climate Change and one of the country’s most prominent voices on climate and gender equity, was among those acknowledged in the bank’s recognition post, underscoring the seriousness with which Mobilink Bank is approaching the climate-gender nexus as a strategic priority rather than a reputational footnote.
For Pakistan’s corporate sector, where DEI and climate commitments frequently remain aspirational rather than operational, Mobilink Bank’s twin awards at a PBC-IFC platform represent one of the clearest signals yet that the two agendas are beginning to converge in meaningful institutional practice.
