
A Japanese delegation led by Hokkaido Assembly MP Kobayashi Yuji visited the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) to search for new opportunities for trade, investment, and technology collaboration. The two sides discussed ways to further industrial cooperation, human skills development, and innovation-based partnerships between Pakistan and Japan.

A top-level Japanese trade delegation led by Hokkaido Assembly MP Kobayashi Yuji invited the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) to explore new paths of trade, investment, and technology collaboration between Pakistan and Japan.
Welcoming the delegation, ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood highlighted potential avenues of cooperation like information technology, rare earth minerals, and agro-based industry. He welcomed Japanese investors to take advantage of the improved investment environment of Pakistan, promising full institutional support from ICCI.
Kobayashi Yuji appreciated the hospitality of Pakistan and emphasized Japan’s interest in enhanced cooperation, especially skill development and training of workforce. He identified Pakistan’s young and talented workforce as an asset to Japan’s manufacturing industries.
Parliamentary Secretary Commerce Dr Zulfiqar Bhatti again reaffirmed the government’s commitment to increase trade and investments, again highlighting that growth in exports and innovation is also on top of the agenda under the Prime Minister’s vision. Mian Shoukat Masood, a senior ICCI member, also urged Japanese investors to benefit from Pakistan’s dynamic IT industry, while highlighting its cost-competitiveness and increasing global appeal.
