ISLAMABAD: GDG Islamabad is bringing Google I/O Extended 2025 to the capital, with a two-day event scheduled for July 12 and 13. The program is designed to deliver the latest in tech innovation, professional development, and community networking, with a strong focus on artificial intelligence, Android, cloud computing, and web technologies.

This year’s I/O Extended aims to bridge the local developer community with global trends unveiled at Google I/O. From deep dives into emerging tools to skill-building workshops, the sessions will cater to both new entrants and experienced developers. The event will also offer code labs, technical demos, and real-world problem-solving exercises to provide hands-on learning.

Saad Hamid, Google’s Regional Developer Ecosystem Lead, will headline the event as keynote speaker. Known for his work in digital upskilling across Pakistan, Saad will share insights on how developers can align with global standards while creating local impact.

Umar Nazir, Co-Manager of GDG Islamabad, noted the urgency of adapting to new technology. “We’ve reached a point where learning AI is no longer optional. You either adapt or get left behind. This event is for those who want to build, learn, and grow within a thriving tech community.”

Google I/O Extended is globally recognized as a local version of Google’s flagship developer conference. It gives attendees a chance to understand the latest updates in the tech stack, engage with experts, and collaborate with other innovators in their city. In Islamabad, the event is expected to attract hundreds of participants from universities, startups, and the corporate sector.

On Day 1 (Saturday, July 12), sessions will be held at the Pearl Continental Hotel, Rawalpindi, from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Day 2 (Sunday, July 13) will take place at Innovista Mall, Main Defense Avenue, Islamabad, at the same time. Each day will feature curated content streams and networking opportunities.

Google Developer Experts (GDEs) and seasoned professionals will conduct deep technical sessions covering practical implementation of AI models, modern web architecture, Android development workflows, and secure cloud deployments. Participants can expect targeted content to help them apply new skills immediately.

The event will also provide an opportunity for attendees to become part of the growing Google developer ecosystem in Pakistan, connect with mentors, and explore career paths in emerging areas like machine learning, data engineering, and mobile app development.

Organizers encourage early registration to secure a seat. Interested participants can register using the official form:
