South Korea’s Bankware Global has secured a Rs1.57 billion contract to develop systems and supply software for Pakistan Post.
South Korean fintech company Bankware Global has won a 7.98 billion won contract, equivalent to around Rs1.57 billion, to develop a system and provide software for Pakistan’s postal service.
The Seoul-based technology company disclosed the agreement in a filing with the Korean Exchange on Tuesday, saying the project will be executed through a joint venture.
The contract is scheduled to run from August 7, 2026, until March 6, 2028. Bankware Global said the deal represents 12.6% of its revenue recorded during 2025.
Under the payment arrangement, the company will receive 20% of the contract value upfront. The remaining amount will be released progressively, with payments linked to implementation milestones, sector-specific inspections and the commencement of operations and maintenance services.
The project comes as Pakistan Post works to upgrade its technology infrastructure and improve the systems supporting its public services.
With approximately 13,000 post offices across the country, the Pakistan Post Office Department serves a broad customer base through postal, remittance and other public-facing services. Its offerings also include utility bill collection and CNIC renewal facilities.
The department has been pursuing technological improvements as part of efforts to modernise its operations and expand the use of digital systems.
For Bankware Global, the agreement strengthens its business presence in Pakistan and adds a significant public-sector project to its regional portfolio. The company has more than 17 years of experience in financial technology and develops software and platforms for banking and financial institutions.
Its product range includes core banking systems, financial enterprise resource planning solutions, card-processing technology and software-as-a-service banking platforms, with operations serving financial institutions across Asia.
The contract will therefore combine Bankware Global’s financial technology expertise with Pakistan Post’s modernisation efforts, although the company’s disclosure did not provide detailed information about the specific system being developed or identify the other members of the joint venture.
