The development reflects growing international interest in the country’s technology sector, with officials highlighting opportunities for Pakistan to become a regional technology and global services hub.
US-based technology company Mobiz has expanded its operations in Pakistan by establishing a regional office at the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP) in Karachi, marking another step in the growing presence of international technology firms in the country.
Headquartered in Houston, Mobiz provides technology solutions and services in areas including cloud computing, data, artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity. The company operates across multiple international markets, and its new Karachi office is expected to strengthen its regional operations while creating greater opportunities for Pakistan’s technology professionals.
The launch was welcomed by Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Chairman Kabir Ahmed Sidhu, who said the entry and expansion of global technology companies demonstrate increasing international confidence in Pakistan’s IT talent and digital capabilities.
Sidhu emphasised that Pakistan’s young and skilled workforce has considerable potential to contribute to the global technology industry. He noted that the country has opportunities to emerge as a regional technology and global services hub, while increased investment from international firms could generate employment, develop local expertise and provide Pakistani professionals with exposure to international markets.
Pakistan’s technology sector has also become an increasingly important contributor to the country’s foreign exchange earnings. During FY2025-26, exports of IT and IT-enabled services reached a record $4.6 billion, representing a 20.6% increase from $3.8 billion recorded during the previous fiscal year.
The SECP chairman also pointed to ongoing efforts to improve Pakistan’s business environment through increased transparency, digitalisation and regulatory reforms. According to Sidhu, the adoption of modern technologies can help businesses reduce costs and time while improving operational efficiency and transparency.
Congratulating Mobiz Global on the establishment of its Karachi office, Sidhu expressed hope that the company would continue to expand its footprint and operations in Pakistan.
The development follows Google’s recent opening of its first local office in Pakistan, highlighting the increasing engagement of major international technology companies with the country’s digital ecosystem.
Mobiz’s regional expansion adds to this momentum and further signals Pakistan’s potential as a destination for technology investment, digital services and international business operations.
