Asif Ali Zardari has called for expanded cooperation with China across agriculture, technology and industry during engagements with Chinese officials in Hunan province.
During meetings with provincial leadership, including Mao Zedong’s home region representatives, the president highlighted Pakistan-China relations as a central pillar of Islamabad’s foreign policy. He invited Chinese officials to Pakistan for upcoming diplomatic anniversary celebrations, while stressing the importance of long-standing bilateral ties.
Zardari underscored opportunities for collaboration in agricultural innovation, including seed development, research and modern farming methods, alongside potential growth in trade sectors such as machinery, minerals and information technology.
Speaking at a formal reception, Chinese officials described both countries as close partners and reaffirmed support for continued cooperation under regional initiatives.
The president also visited Sany Heavy Industry Co. Ltd., where he reviewed advanced manufacturing systems and explored avenues for joint ventures, technology transfer and skills development.
Officials said the visit reflects efforts to deepen economic engagement, strengthen industrial capacity and enhance long-term collaboration between Pakistan and China.
