Allied Bank Limited (ABL), UnionPay International (UPI), and Paysys Labs have partnered to introduce tokenization technology for mobile Tap-and-Pay payments in Pakistan, enhancing security and convenience. The collaboration enables ABL customers—especially UnionPay-PayPak Co-Badge Debit Card users—to make seamless, contactless transactions via mobile devices. Tokenization replaces sensitive card data with secure digital tokens, ensuring faster and safer payments.
The launch event was held at Paysys Labs’ Karachi office. ABL’s Group Head Cards, Muhammad Kamran Zeb, emphasized the bank’s commitment to innovation, while UPI’s Country Head, Nadeem Haroon, highlighted their support for Pakistan’s digital transformation. Paysys CEO, Karim Jindani, stressed the importance of secure, tech-driven payment systems.
This initiative positions ABL at the forefront of Pakistan’s digital banking evolution and reflects a broader push to modernize financial services. The partnership aims to drive secure, scalable, and user-friendly payment solutions across the country.
