One of the most beloved Islamic scholars, Dr. Israr Ahmed’s YouTube channel was recently taken down in response to allegations of antisemitic statements by a weekly newspaper Jewish Chronicles. The channel had almost 3 million subscribers and was a source of information and inspiration for a lot of his followers.

The followers of the scholar shared their disappointment and anger on the ban citing examples of how his work only promoted peace as Dr. Israr was a great scholar of Islam who never preached violence and urged his followers to get an education and learn modern technology.

Taking notice of the ban, the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority has officially gotten in touch with YouTube and requested to restore religious scholar Dr. Israr Ahmed’s channel. According to a statement shared by the officials, PTA has written a letter to the YouTube administration and asked the video-sharing platform to unblock the channel.
