Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the government’s institutional reforms are key to steering Pakistan toward a more stable and competitive position in the global economy. He highlighted improvements in governance, transparency, and efficiency as essential pillars of sustainable development. The PM expressed confidence that these reforms would enhance investor confidence, strengthen institutions, and lay the groundwork for long-term economic growth.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during a review meeting on Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) affairs, directed the hiring of global firms for third-party validation of tax reforms. He highlighted rapid progress in institutional reforms aimed at improving transparency and curbing corruption. The faceless customs assessment system was praised for boosting revenue and speeding up clearance times. Updates were also shared on ongoing reforms in PRAL and plans to introduce a simplified digital tax return system in Urdu and other local languages. Senior ministers and officials attended the meeting.
