Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during a review meeting on Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) affairs, directed the hiring of global firms for third-party validation of tax reforms. He highlighted rapid progress in institutional reforms aimed at improving transparency and curbing corruption. The faceless customs assessment system was praised for boosting revenue and speeding up clearance times. Updates were also shared on ongoing reforms in PRAL and plans to introduce a simplified digital tax return system in Urdu and other local languages. Senior ministers and officials attended the meeting.
