A new takaful initiative aims to empower underserved women in Pakistan with financial protection and long-term savings through a strategic partnership.
A new micro-savings and protection initiative, “Khushal Mustaqbil Takaful” (KMT), has been launched through a collaboration between Jubilee Life Insurance, Kashf Foundation, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The agreement was formalized at Kashf Foundation’s head office in Lahore, marking a step forward in promoting financial inclusion for underserved women.
The Shari’ah-compliant product is tailored for Kashf Foundation’s women borrowers, combining life protection with long-term savings under a yearly renewable endowment plan. It aims to strengthen household resilience while enabling women to build financial security.
Javed Ahmed, MD and CEO of Jubilee Life Insurance, stated, “Financial protection must be inclusive and accessible, particularly for women who play a central role in strengthening household resilience.”
Roshaneh Zafar, Managing Director of Kashf Foundation, emphasized, “A woman who invests in her future doesn’t just change her own life, she changes her family’s as well.”
A UNDP Pakistan representative highlighted that expanding inclusive insurance is key to reducing the country’s protection gap and supporting vulnerable communities against economic and climate shocks.
