K-Electric appoints Syed Taha as CEO, effective April 15, replacing interim head Adeeb Ahmad.
K-Electric has appointed Syed Taha as its new Chief Executive Officer, replacing interim CEO Adeeb Ahmad, according to a notification submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The appointment will take effect from April 15.
Syed Taha holds an engineering degree and an MBA in finance from the Institute of Business Administration Karachi. He has been serving as Managing Director and CEO of Pakistan State Oil since February 2020.
Prior to his role at PSO, he worked as an executive director at Oasis Energy, where he headed the programme management office of Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company in Nigeria. He has also previously served as Chief Distribution Officer at K-Electric and held senior roles in multiple organisations.
The outgoing interim CEO, Adeeb Ahmad, had assumed the role in February following the resignation of Moonis Alvi. Alvi stepped down after confirming his decision publicly, stating he would support a smooth leadership transition.
The leadership change comes as K-Electric continues its operations as Karachi’s primary power utility.
