
Bank of Punjab and Punjab’s Office of AI have signed an MoU to develop AI infrastructure and boost the province’s digital economy.

Bank of Punjab has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Office of AI Punjab to advance artificial intelligence adoption and digital infrastructure in the province.
The initiative, launched under the Digital Punjab vision of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, aims to establish a Punjab AI Data Center and a Financial Data Warehouse at Nawaz Sharif IT City. The project is expected to strengthen data infrastructure and accelerate the province’s digital transformation.
The agreement was facilitated under the leadership of Ali Dar, who stated that the partnership will enable practical applications of AI across sectors and position Punjab as a leading AI hub in South Asia by 2029.
Under the collaboration, AI-driven financial solutions will be introduced to improve access to credit for farmers, SMEs and the housing sector, while enhancing financial inclusion for underserved communities.
The initiative also aims to create over 100,000 jobs and foster collaboration with startups, universities and global AI firms to drive innovation and research.
