Telenor Pakistan has completed the world’s largest one-go migration of its entire prepaid and postpaid customer base, around 90 million users to a next-generation Charging and Billing System (CBS), marking a major milestone in the country’s telecom evolution.
The newly deployed cloud-native CBS is hosted on a private cloud and offers enhanced resilience, geo-redundancy, and high scalability. Designed to support a rapidly expanding digital ecosystem, the platform enables faster service launches, seamless integrations through more than 100 APIs, and readiness for next-generation technologies, including 5G.
The successful cutover was achieved through close collaboration between cross-functional teams at Telenor Pakistan, Huawei, and multiple technology partners, ensuring uninterrupted customer services during the transition.
Speaking on the milestone, Telenor Pakistan CEO Awais Vohra said the migration strengthens the company’s digital foundation, enabling quicker responses to customer needs and long-term innovation. Huawei Pakistan CEO Ethan Sun highlighted the project as a reflection of the evolving partnership between the two companies, focused on future-ready digital capabilities.
