The National Information Technology Board (NITB) and the Law & Justice Commission of Pakistan (LJCP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as an initiative towards digitalizing the Pakistani system of justice under a single judicial data dashboard. The MoU was sealed during a ceremony in the Supreme Court where the Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and other highest government officials were present.
The digital dashboard will centralize data across the justice sector, enabling real-time tracking of case disposal rates, backlog patterns, and institutional performance. It will also monitor key indicators set by the National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee (NJPMC), helping to enhance judicial transparency and efficiency.
The MoU was signed between NITB CEO as well as LJCP secretary on a ceremony where members of judiciary as well as the IT Ministry participated including Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar as well as Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja. Justice Ali Baqar Najafi participated virtually from Lahore.
This project supports NJAC’s overall efforts at utilization of technology in judicial policymaking as well as centralizing case management nationwide.
