The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor, Jameel Ahmad, officially inaugurated the JazzCash Experience Lounge in Islamabad, marking a new milestone in Pakistan’s transition toward a cashless economy. He was accompanied by SBP Deputy Governor Saleem Ullah, VEON Group CEO Kaan Terzioglu, JazzCash CEO Murtaza Ali, Jazz CEO Aamir Ibrahim, and Mobilink Bank CEO Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary.
Governor Ahmad praised the initiative, describing it as a valuable step to expand financial inclusion and strengthen public trust in digital payments. He noted that the Experience Lounge demonstrates how modern payment systems can help broaden access to financial services and accelerate Pakistan’s digital economy.
JazzCash CEO Murtaza Ali highlighted that the lounge is designed as an interactive hub where visitors can explore real-life payment solutions, including QR-based transactions, JazzCash Tap, soundbox devices, and next-generation features like facial recognition payments and digital wearables.
With a customer base of 53 million, JazzCash already processes transactions equivalent to nearly 9 percent of Pakistan’s GDP annually. Its extensive merchant and agent network, combined with innovative offerings such as over 140,000 daily digital loans, positions it at the forefront of financial inclusion.
This initiative reflects Pakistan’s growing momentum toward digitization and cashless transactions, aligning with the government’s broader vision of building a digital economy.
