Taking a huge step towards citizen focused governance, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has announced the inauguration of Pakistan’s first Asan Khidmat Markaz in association with Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations (SAPSSI). The project, made public by releasing a statement while chairing a meeting with SAPSSI Chairman Ulvi Mehdiyev, is being described as a new milestone in Pakistan, Azerbaijan friendship.

Impressed by his recent trip to Baku, where he saw the successful model of Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister has asked authorities to introduce the model in Islamabad. The Asan Khidmat Markaz will merge a variety of public services under one roof, ensuring more transparency, efficiency, and convenience for citizens. It will also have a Business Facilitation Center, providing entrepreneurs easy access to services while furthering the vision of the government for a cashless economy.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between Pakistan’s Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan and SAPSSI, with top level cabinet officials present. Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the technical assistance of Azerbaijan, terming the project a token of increasing bilateral cooperation.

The project is not merely a service center, it’s a template for new, transparent, and people-oriented governance in Pakistan.
