Pakistan received a record $38.3 billion in workers’ remittances during FY25, marking a 27% surge from $30.3 billion in FY24, according to State Bank data released Wednesday. The $8 billion year-on-year increase underscores strong overseas support despite economic headwinds.
In June 2025 alone, remittances totaled $3.406 billion—up 8% from June 2024 but down 8% from May 2025. Saudi Arabia remained the top source, contributing $823 million (up 2% YoY, down 10% MoM), followed by the UAE with $717 million (up 10% YoY, down 5% MoM).
The EU saw the highest growth with $442 million in June, a 34% year-on-year increase. Remittances from the UK rose to $538 million, while the U.S. sent $281 million—down 13% YoY. The continued strength of remittance inflows highlights the vital role of overseas Pakistanis in stabilizing the national economy amid persistent financial challenges.
