Faysal Bank Limited has introduced Pakistan’s first Inclusive Communication Guide, marking a pioneering stride in workplace inclusivity. Developed in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence in Responsible Business (CERB) under the Pakistan Business Council, this guide offers practical guidelines to embed respectful and inclusive language in professional settings from encouraging the use of gender-neutral terms to avoiding stereotypes and insensitive phrasing. It also includes versions in English and Braille, setting a national benchmark for diversity, equity, and inclusion in corporate environments.
Launched in Karachi, the event gathered business leaders, DEI advocates, and partners in inclusivity to emphasize the collective commitment toward a workplace where every voice is heard and valued. The Guide addresses communication across a wide spectrum for women, persons with disabilities, and marginalized communities offering tools for more thoughtful and empathetic engagement. It demonstrates Faysal Bank’s effort to extend its DEI vision beyond internal culture, aiming to influence the broader business landscape.
Yousaf Hussain, President & CEO of Faysal Bank, highlighted at the launch that “inclusion begins with language” the selection of words reflects organizational intent, values, and respect. He expressed hope that this document will prove to be more than guidance; it’s a pledge to foster empathy and belonging not only within Faysal Bank but across Pakistan’s corporate sector. Ehsan Malik, CEO of the Pakistan Business Council, echoed these sentiments, calling the guide a vital resource and a “business imperative” for cultivating inclusive culture through intentional communication.
