Halan Microfinance Bank, formerly Advans Pakistan, has received a nationwide expansion license from the State Bank of Pakistan following its acquisition by Egypt-based fintech MNT-Halan. This move allows the bank to operate beyond Sindh, marking a major milestone in its growth. With an authorized capital increase to PKR 5 billion and a USD 10 million investment planned for digital upgrades, Halan aims to expand its services and physical presence by launching 75 new business units.
Despite a PKR 727.3 million loss in 2024 due to restructuring, the bank remains financially strong. Halan targets 200,000 customers by the end of 2025, offering digital microfinance, SME, agricultural, and Shariah-compliant products to promote financial inclusion across Pakistan. The nationwide license reflects growing regulatory trust in Halan’s capacity to deliver innovative, technology-driven financial solutions. It also signals a broader shift in Pakistan’s microfinance landscape, where digital transformation and international investment are becoming key drivers of inclusive economic growth.
