Turkiye is preparing a plan to set up an assembly facility for its combat drones in Pakistan, according to reports citing Turkish officials.

The reported plan would allow Turkiye to assemble advanced stealth and long endurance drones inside Pakistan, giving Islamabad access to high end unmanned technology while supporting Ankara’s growing presence in global defence markets. Turkish officials did not comment publicly on the matter, and Pakistan’s Information Minister Ataullah Tarar also did not respond to inquiries.
Defence ties between the two countries have expanded steadily in recent years. Turkiye has built corvette warships for the Pakistan Navy, upgraded F 16 fighter jets and is encouraging Pakistan to participate in its next generation fighter jet programme. One official described defence cooperation as “a key pillar of national policy.”
Turkiye’s defence exports have increased sharply this year, reaching record levels, and officials continue to pursue new opportunities in Asia and the Middle East. Analysts say an assembly facility in Pakistan would deepen collaboration in drone technology and support manufacturing links already established through joint work on UAV components.
