Small Renewable Energy Projects in IGCEP

Renewable resources are natural resources that can be replenished naturally over time, making them sustainable for long-term use. Examples include sunlight, wind, water, and biomass. These resources play a vital role in reducing pollution, conserving the environment, and promoting sustainable development. Unlike fossil fuels, renewable resources help minimize greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change.

In a letter to the Prime Minister, Syed M Hussain Gardezi, Vice Chairman of HEPA, emphasized that small-scale renewable energy projects can boost the energy mix, provide sustainable power to remote areas, and enhance energy security. HEPA urged the Prime Minister to ease regulatory barriers and simplify procedures for small-scale renewable energy projects, enabling projects up to 20 MW to contribute to the national energy plan. The proposed measures aim to attract local investors, boost economic growth, create jobs, and support a greener, more sustainable energy future.
