In an initiative fostering educational ties, China and Pakistan, have launched the ‘Digital Trade Silk Road Academy’ in Lahore, having five institutions from both countries on board to foster Pakistan’s technical and vocational training, especially in digital trade and e-commerce.
Backed by China’s global leadership in online retail, the initiative brings in experienced expertise to modernize Pakistan’s digital skillset. While the Academy will start with cross-border e-commerce courses, it later plans to branch into logistics and broader e-commerce training, based at the Government Technical Training Institute, Gulberg, all under TEVTA Punjab.
This move is one of many to accomplish Pakistan’s “Digital Pakistan” agenda, aiming to equip youth with in-demand digital skills. With China’s growing #SilkRoad E-commerce network now spanning 33 countries, this partnership puts Pakistan right in the middle of that expanding map.
Think of it as a digital skills upgrade, powered by one of the biggest e-commerce players in the world, with Pakistan’s workforce set to benefit big time.
