SadaPay has faced user backlash after a system issue led to incorrect deductions and negative balances appearing in some customer accounts.
The fintech firm acknowledged the disruption and apologised, stating that the issue was caused by a temporary problem with one of its technology partners. According to the company, the error resulted in erroneous transactions being reflected in user accounts, sparking concern among customers.
SadaPay assured users that their funds remain secure and that all affected balances will be restored within 48 hours. The company said it has already identified the issue and is working to reverse the incorrect transactions across banking and partner systems.
The incident triggered widespread complaints on social media, with users reporting unexplained negative balances and delays in customer support responses. Some customers also raised concerns about account access and the inability to immediately deactivate accounts.
Industry experts noted that such disruptions do not indicate fraud, emphasizing that SadaPay operates under the regulatory framework of the State Bank of Pakistan. They added that system issues of this nature are typically resolved once the underlying problem is fixed.
