Press Release: PTA has restored the services of TikTok on assurances of the Platform to control immoral / indecent content.

The company also assured that the users who are continuously involved in uploading unlawful content will be blocked from using the platform.
Keeping in view the assurances, the Authority has decided to lift the ban on #TikTok forthwith.— PTA (@PTAofficialpk) November 19, 2021
PTA will continue to monitor the platform in order to ensure that unlawful content contrary to Pakistan’s law and societal values is not disseminated.

The news came in on 19th November as PTA restored TikTok in Pakistan. TikTok in Pakistan has had mixed public opinion as far as its content impact is concerned. Some hailing the move while some users on various social media platforms expressed their concerns over content that is disseminated from the platform.
There is no doubt that TikTok has taken major leaps in Pakistan, engaging massive audience base and giving content creators a whole new aspect to showcase their opinions and skills.
Considering PTA’s official twitter handle statement “PTA will continue to monitor the platform in order to ensure that unlawful content contrary to Pakistan’s law and societal values is not disseminated.”
It will be interesting to see how the latest arrangement is handled and agreed terms are implemented.
