The China Pakistan Economic Corridor – CPEC has entered its second phase, focusing on industrialization, socio-economic development, and enhanced regional connectivity to transform Pakistan’s economy. Building upon the infrastructure and energy projects initiated in the first phase, CPEC Phase-II aims to establish Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to attract foreign investment, stimulate manufacturing, and create employment opportunities.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the vast potential for cooperation in agriculture, IT, and mining under CPEC’s second phase while addressing an event marking China’s 75th anniversary. He congratulated China on its global influence and partnership with Pakistan. The event, attended by President Asif Ali Zardari and other dignitaries, reinforced both nations’ commitment to strengthening ties and fostering mutual prosperity.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the strong Pakistan-China friendship, acknowledging China’s support during International Monetary Fund negotiations while emphasizing the need for progress in key sectors. He highlighted the partnership’s role in regional peace and global stability, reiterated Pakistan’s support for China on international issues, and expressed gratitude for China’s warm reception. He also welcomed the Chinese Premier’s upcoming visit for the SCO CHG meeting. Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong praised President Xi’s leadership and reaffirmed China’s commitment to mutual development with Pakistan.
