
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the EU, Rahim Hayat Qureshi, held a meeting with Andreas Schwarz, Head of Cabinet to EU Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation, to discuss enhancing Pakistan-EU cooperation in the areas of science, technology, and innovation.

The Ambassador of Pakistan to the @European Union, Mr. Rahim Hayat Qureshi, met Andreas Schwarz, Head of Cabinet to EU Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation, Eva Zaharieva, to explore new avenues for collaboration in the areas of science, research, and innovation.
The discussion focused on the further development of cooperation within the framework of Horizon Europe, considered one of the European Union’s flagship programs in research and innovation. Both parties highlighted the ever-increasing importance of science diplomacy, as well as closer relations between intergovernmental scientific organizations.
Ambassador Qureshi reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to driving innovation-led growth and deepening partnerships in knowledge-based areas. The two representatives also discussed enhancing the participation of Pakistani universities, researchers, and entrepreneurs in EU research initiatives.
They agreed upon the need for stronger linkages between the emerging ecosystem of startups in Pakistan and the innovation networks of Europe. The meeting closed with a shared vision of using technology and innovation as tools to promote sustainable development, inclusive economic growth, and global collaboration for years to come.
