President Asif Ali Zardari met Abdelatty in Islamabad and said Pakistan values its longstanding ties with Egypt and hopes to advance cooperation in a structured way. He also encouraged greater Egyptian investment in sectors including energy, logistics, construction, agriculture, mining and IT. Abdelatty conveyed a message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and expressed his country’s interest in expanding the partnership.
Earlier, Abdelatty met Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. Dar announced that Pakistan will share a list of 250 business houses to strengthen commercial engagement, with the list later expanding to 500. He said this step would support business to business links and reduce delays in commercial visas. Dar noted the two sides will create a Pakistan Egypt Business Council to promote private sector cooperation, calling this progress “a more structured framework of cooperation.”
The two ministers also discussed regional developments and agreed to intensify coordination on security, political dialogue and the Palestinian cause.
