In order to promote new energy vehicles (NEVs) in Pakistan, Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) and China’s GAC Group have entered into an exclusive partnership arrangement.
As per the deal, LMC will introduce GAC’s electric car brands, such as Hyptec and Aion, to the regional market.
In addition to manufacturing cars for international brands like Toyota and Honda, GAC is a state-owned manufacturer in china also known for its own EV lineup.
The collaboration represents LMC’s ongoing diversification in Pakistan’s automotive industry and broadens its current portfolio, which currently includes Peugeot and Kia.
The business claims that in the upcoming weeks, further information about the product portfolio, pricing, dealership network, and rollout schedule will be revealed.
The deal is made as several manufacturers investigate Pakistan’s EV market, where demand is still growing yet.
Access to GAC’s cutting-edge battery technology and vertically integrated manufacturing ecosystem, which includes battery development, car manufacture, and recycling, is another benefit of the agreement. Aion and Hyptec, the company’s EV brands, have continuously been among China’s best-selling new energy vehicles.
The partnership is anticipated to facilitate the development of EV-related infrastructure, as well as local assembly and technology transfer.
