Karandaaz Pakistan and Walee Financial Services have partnered to introduce Khudmukhtar Khatoon, the nation’s first Shariah-compliant digital asset-financing facility dedicated to women entrepreneurs. The solution addresses one of Pakistan’s largest issues for female-led ventures which is access to funding.
In contrast to traditional lending, Khudmukhtar Khatoon provides asset-based lending that provides women with the capital equipment and tools necessary to expand their businesses rather than cash payments. The program is structured on a tiered system that assists women at all levels, from aspiring home-based entrepreneurs to experienced business owners.
Pilot phase targets industries with strong female engagement like clothing, food, and beauty services to experiment and refine the model before scaling it across the country.
Addressing the signing ceremony, Karandaaz Chief Executive Waqas ul Hasan said the program is consistent with Pakistan’s national development agenda by advancing women’s economic participation through inclusive, values-driven finance. Walee CEO Noshad Minhas further stated that the program enables women with dignity and sustainable growth, setting a new direction for financial innovation in Pakistan.
