Pakistan financial welfare system is getting a digital glow-up. Jazz has kicked off a nationwide drive to hand out free SIMs and mobile wallets to women under the Benazir Income Support Programme, turning aid into a tap-and-go experience. With millions of first-time users stepping online, the initiative aims to swap cash queues for digital confidence—one SIM at a time.
Jazz is driving a national movement toward a cashless and digitally empowered Pakistan by leveraging its fintech platform, JazzCash. The company is actively working to bridge the country’s vast financial inclusion gap, particularly for women, by distributing 2 million free SIM cards and 1.7 million secure JazzCash wallets to beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
This initiative directly aligns with JazzCash’s mission to foster women’s financial inclusion. For millions of beneficiaries, the mobile wallet provides their first formal digital identity and secure entry into the financial system. The process replaces traditional cash disbursements with direct, traceable digital transfers, eliminating intermediaries, reducing corruption, and providing a dignified payment experience.
The digital access grants women significant autonomy and control over their finances. They can now withdraw funds safely, make digital payments, and access future financial tools like savings and micro-loans, strengthening their household stability. CEO Aamir Ibrahim noted that the shift gives women “dignity, privacy, and direct control over their financial lives.” With a commitment to activate a first wave of unconnected beneficiaries, Jazz is ready to scale up its support as Pakistan accelerates its path toward a transparent and financially resilient future. The nationwide rollout has begun in Sindh and will expand across other provinces.
