Pakistan’s push toward digital sovereignty gained momentum as Data Vault Pakistan partnered with US-based Rafay Systems to expand the country’s first sovereign AI cloud platform. The initiative is designed to help enterprises deploy artificial intelligence at scale while ensuring that sensitive data and AI workloads remain securely hosted within Pakistan.
Under the collaboration, Rafay Systems will provide its AI and Kubernetes orchestration technology, enabling organizations to move AI models from experimentation to full production in a governed, self-service environment. The platform targets key sectors including telecommunications, banking, cloud service providers, startups, and large enterprises, offering GPU-accelerated computing aligned with local compliance and data residency requirements.
Data Vault Pakistan Founder and CEO Mehwish Salman Ali said the partnership aims to deliver hyperscale-like AI capabilities without compromising national data control. Rafay Systems CEO Haseeb Budhani emphasized that sovereign AI infrastructure is critical for countries seeking innovation alongside security and regulatory oversight.
The move signals a significant step in strengthening Pakistan’s AI ecosystem, reducing reliance on foreign cloud providers, and enabling locally hosted, enterprise-grade AI innovation.
