A deal is close that would see ARY Group acquire digital media platform Nukta, originally backed by Malik Riaz.
ARY Group is set to acquire Nukta, the digital media platform launched by journalist Kamran Khan and backed by property developer Malik Riaz. Officials from both organisations have confirmed that the deal is almost final, with only a few details remaining.
Nukta was launched in November 2024 as a digital news platform with headquarters in Dubai and a large team of journalists recruited from across Pakistan. The platform operated with financial backing from Malik Riaz and aimed to generate revenue through YouTube, digital advertising, and media services.
However, funding challenges emerged after Malik Riaz withdrew financial support. Nukta announced layoffs in November 2025, affecting dozens of employees, as the company faced budget constraints.
Reports suggest the agreement with ARY may include Kamran Khan hosting a prime time television programme on the network. ARY operates one of Pakistan’s largest private media networks, including television, digital platforms, and online distribution channels.
It remains unclear whether Nukta will continue as a standalone digital brand or be integrated into ARY’s existing media operations. The acquisition would give ARY an established digital news platform while raising questions about Nukta’s future structure and workforce.
