
ECNEC approves development projects worth over Rs280 billion for infrastructure, healthcare and urban development.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC), where major development priorities and public sector investments were reviewed.
The committee approved key infrastructure and social sector projects worth over Rs280 billion, aimed at improving connectivity, strengthening public services and supporting long-term economic growth across the country.
According to officials, the approved schemes cover highways, healthcare and urban development initiatives. The projects are expected to enhance transport networks, expand access to essential health services and support sustainable urban growth.
During the meeting, the deputy prime minister reiterated the government’s commitment to sustainable economic development, efficient service delivery and long-term planning to support national growth objectives.
The session was attended by the Minister for Finance and Revenue, the Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives, the Minister for National Health Services and Regulations, as well as senior provincial and federal officials from relevant departments.
The approvals come as part of the government’s broader development agenda focused on infrastructure expansion, public welfare and economic resilience.
