Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has signed pro-rate cargo agreement with Indonesia’s national carrier, Garuda Indonesia, aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s air cargo connectivity and supporting exporter. Under the agreement, which will take effect in January 2026 and remain valid until July 2027, Pakistani exporters will gain streamlined and reliable access to international markets.
The arrangement allows goods to be routed through major transit hubs in Jeddah and Kuala Lumpur, improving connectivity to high-demand destinations across Asia-Pacific and beyond. Key markets covered under the deal include Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Seoul. Officials said the long-term nature of the agreement would help exporters plan shipments more efficiently.
PIA stated that the agreement ensures competitive cargo rates for exporters and freight agents, lowering logistics costs and enhancing the competitiveness of Pakistani products in global markets. The airline said expanding international cargo partnerships is central to its strategy to boost exports and grow its air cargo business.
PIA expressed confidence that the partnership with Garuda Indonesia will open new trade opportunities and support Pakistan’s broader economic growth objectives.
