

Visa and easypaisa Digital Bank are teaming up to put cards front and centre in Pakistan’s digital payments journey. The partnership aims to boost secure, seamless transactions at home and abroad.
Visa and easypaisa digital bank have entered into a strategic partnership to expand card-based digital transactions across Pakistan and international markets, the companies said on Tuesday.
Under the agreement, both sides will work closely to increase the issuance and usage of Visa-branded debit and credit cards, enabling secure and frictionless payments across physical and digital merchant channels. easypaisa plans to enhance its cardholder offerings through the launch of premium debit cards, credit cards and new cross-border payment initiatives.
The collaboration also focuses on encouraging greater use of cards for international transactions across point-of-sale (POS), e-commerce and ATM channels. In addition, the partnership includes joint initiatives covering marketing, customer activation, merchant enablement, training and technology upgrades to support wider card acceptance nationwide.
Commenting on the development, Jahanzeb Khan, President and Chief Executive Officer of easypaisa Digital Bank, said the partnership would allow the bank to leverage Visa’s global payment network, advanced transaction processing capabilities and robust security standards to deliver seamless payment experiences.
Visa’s Country Manager for Pakistan and Afghanistan, Umar Khan, said Pakistan’s shift towards digital payments was gaining momentum, noting that easypaisa’s reach—serving nearly one in every five Pakistanis—underscored the strong potential for broader adoption.
Through the partnership, both organisations reiterated their commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s digital payments ecosystem, promoting financial inclusion and supporting a secure, cash-lite economy.
