Pakistan financial welfare system is getting a digital glow-up. Jazz has kicked off a nationwide drive to hand out free SIMs and mobile wallets to women under the Benazir Income Support Programme, turning aid into a tap-and-go experience. With millions of first-time users stepping online, the initiative aims to swap cash queues for digital confidence—one SIM at a time.
A countrywide rollout of free Jazz SIMs for women enrolled in the Benazir Income Support Programme is now underway, bringing mobile connectivity and digital financial access to two million beneficiaries.
Company officials say around 1.7 million of these SIMs have already been connected to JazzCash wallets, allowing recipients to receive and manage financial assistance electronically. The move supports the federal government’s push for a transparent, cashless payment model and limits risks associated with manual cash distribution.
Through the programme, eligible women are being provided SIMs pre-linked with mobile wallets, ensuring welfare payments are sent directly to beneficiaries without intermediaries. Jazz Chief Executive Officer Aamir Ibrahim stated that the initiative is designed to help women manage their finances independently while improving clarity in welfare transfers.
Distribution activities have started in Sindh, with gradual expansion planned for Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan. For many participants, the service represents their first exposure to digital identity and mobile-based financial tools.
Jazz says the programme enables women to withdraw funds securely, pay bills, save money, and take part in digital commerce—advancing financial inclusion as Pakistan moves toward modern welfare delivery systems.
