Allied Bank Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Center for Digital Assets Research (CeDAR) at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) to advance blockchain innovation in Pakistan. The agreement, formalized at LUMS, aims to explore blockchain-based use cases, conduct research, and develop specialized training programs to build local expertise in emerging technologies.
Senior officials from both sides attended the signing, including Allied Bank’s Chief Technology & Digital Transformation Officer Mujahid Ali, Chief Digital Officer Mohsin Mithani, and Group Head Digital Transformation & Innovation Muhammad Zaman. From LUMS, Provost Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Principal Investigator Dr. Zartash Afzal Uzmi, Co-Principal Investigator Dr. Basit Shafia, and Director Ali Khawaja were present.
The partnership will focus on launching pilot blockchain initiatives and fostering industry-academia collaboration, aligning with Allied Bank’s commitment to embracing innovative technologies and contributing to Pakistan’s digital transformation in the financial sector.
