Pakistan and Türkiye have reinforced their commitment to enhancing cooperation in IT, telecommunications, and digital transformation. During a meeting between Pakistani officials and Turkish Ambassador Irfan Nezioglu, discussions centered on expanding collaboration in emerging technologies and digital infrastructure. Ambassador Nezioglu acknowledged Pakistan’s support following Türkiye’s earthquake and highlighted the importance of regional cooperation. He also announced the upcoming visit of the Turkish President to Pakistan.

Nezioglu shared insights into Türkiye’s digital transformation, including its 67 million e-state users, 8,000 digital services, technoparks, private IT firms, and advancements in 5G and AI. He stressed leveraging Pakistan’s youth talent for technological progress and identified shared IT and telecom interests.

Minister Shaza Khawaja emphasized stronger tech collaboration and reaffirmed Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB)‘s commitment to global partnerships. She commended Türkiye’s e-governance advancements and highlighted Pakistan’s Digital Nation Bill, aimed at boosting economic growth, enhancing e-governance, and establishing a digital identity framework. She also underscored B2B opportunities between Pakistan’s NITB and Türkiye’s TurkSat, emphasizing skills over degrees in the digital economy.

To further IT cooperation in 2025, Nezioglu proposed appointing focal persons from both countries to develop a strategic roadmap, advocating for direct ministry and industry engagements. Both sides agreed to expand partnerships in IT, 5G, AI, and digital transformation, strengthening bilateral relations in the digital era.
