HBL Microfinance Bank LTD (HBL MfB) recently announced that Maya Inayat Ismail is their new Chairperson of the Board, taking over from Rayomond H. Kotwal. Maya has been instrumental in the establishment of HBL MfB’s predecessor, the First MicroFinance Bank, and has been on the Board since 2016. With her deep commitment to financial inclusion and over 25 years of experience in the financial sector, she’s a perfect fit for the role.
Rayomond Kotwal, the outgoing Chairman, expressed his pride in the Bank’s achievements and optimism for its future under Maya’s leadership. Sultan Ali Allana, HBL’s Chairman, also praised Maya’s dedication to serving underserved communities. He noted her historic appointment as the first woman to chair an Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development institution.
