Google Workspace for Education, in partnership with Tech Valley Pakistan, has signed an #agreement with the Punjab #Government, including the School Education Department, Government of Punjab and Punjab Education Foundation-Official, to #modernize #primary and #secondary #education in Punjab. Announced at BETT UK 2025, the partnership aims to integrate AI tools into the education system to improve #learning outcomes.
Under this agreement, 200,000 students will receive Digital IDs powered by #Gemini, granting access to advanced learning #tools and #resources.
Additionally, 50,000 teachers will gain #Google for Education certifications, supported by master trainers from #Tech #Valley. Training will focus on using Gemini as “Punjab’s Teachers’ Assistant” to enhance teaching methods.
#Students will also benefit from safe online learning through “Digital Safar,” an #internet safety program led by Tech Valley. To facilitate this transition, 200,000 Chromebooks, assembled locally by NRTC and Allied Australia, will be distributed across the province. #Smart #labs equipped with these Chromebooks will serve as hubs for #digital learning and #teacher #training.
Farhan Qureshi, Country Director for Google Pakistan, stated, “This #partnership will enable personalized learning with #AI, fostering a future-ready #generation.” Minister of Education Punjab, Rana Sikander Hayat, emphasized the program’s role in improving education access and #quality.
